Teaching God’s Love for Soul

By Harold Klemp

An ECK Initiate drives a bus that transports children to a special-education class.  Many of these special-education children have very definite emotional problems, often caused by problems in the home. Some fight at school and are constantly in trouble. When they become too troublesome to interact with other children, the school authorities place them in separate classes and even transport them in a separate bus.

As the Christmas season approached, the bus driver decided to do something special for these children. She knew that the other students treated them as outcasts. To make matters worse, they made fun of the fact that these kids had to ride in a bus that was smaller and plainer than the regular vehicles.

The driver bought a supply of colorful Christmas garlands and ornaments and decorated the inside of the bus. She even hung a garland from the radio antenna, making the bus look just as pretty as she could. Then she drove up to the bus stop where the children would get on. She couldn’t wait to see their expressions.

Some of the children just stood there and looked; most could not believe their eyes. Now, these are tough children. When they got on the bus and took their seats, those who enjoyed the decorations would not allow the others to tear them down. The rule was Leave the decorations up, because they show that we have a special bus!

At school some of the children from the regular buses came by to check this one out, and they actually became envious. In fact, they began to nag their own drivers, “When are you going to decorate our bus?”

The ECKist’s act was an expression of the divine love of one Soul for others. Later in life, when these problem children grow up, a few may go wrong. But many will become leaders in some area of society. They are going to remember that special bus, decorated for them as a gift of love. A gift of true love is always God’s love to you that you give to another.
